Best Aussie Vans 2019

Emprise Group — 1 February 2020
Press Release: The vans head down to Inverloch

Caravan World’s signature Best Aussie Vans event, presented by CZONE |BLA kicks off next week (October 16) in one of Gippsland’s favourite holiday spots, Inverloch.

Best Aussie Vans will be running from October 17th through to October 22nd, and is Australia’s premier, invitation-only caravanning shootout, providing an opportunity for participating vans to compete for the title of ‘Best Aussie Van’ within their respective categories.

It’s also one of the few times where manufacturers can network with industry peers, discuss common issues while putting their creations and products to the test – all while having some fun in a beautiful outdoor setting.

In its 7th year running, Best Aussie Vans will include some of the industry’s most iconic brands and their latest vans competing under the umbrella of three categories: under $60K, $60K - $80K and $80k plus. The presenting manufacturers (and products) for 2019 include:

  • New Age (Manta Ray Luxury)
  • Design RV (Forerunner)
  • Snowy River (SR20)
  • Crusader (Excalibur Prince)
  • Essential (Cruiser Family)
  • Highline (Matrix)
  • Regent (Cruiser)
  • Royal Flair (Piazza)
  • Mars (Mars 15)

This year, Caravan World has assembled an expert team with years of industry experience, to include Ron and Viv Moon, Malcolm Street, Matt Williams, John Ford, and will be hosted by Emprise Group Managing Editor, Tim van Duyl.

In a new initiative for 2019, we have partnered with Holden to run a tow test program in order to test out the towabiltiy of the vans. The tow testing will be led by respected motoring journalist Ged Bulmer to not only put the Holden Trailblazers to the towing test, but asses all the vans.

The event will be based at BIG4 Inverloch, this year's accommodation partner, which has a fantastic range of accommodation, caravan sites and recreational facilities, including an indoor heated pool and indoor splash park and sensational location in Anderson Inlet.

Just next door is the Inverloch Foreshore Camping Reserve, with its new state-of-the-art amenities and seaside feel - which will play host to the Best Aussie Vans Showcase event on Sunday 20th of October, between 10 am and 2 pm. The public are invited to come and view the vans on display with other showcase partners Credit One and Hema Maps.

Our brand and the broader business is built on a number of core values (one of which is transparency) and our content is defined by its quality, credibility, and authority. The judging team is chosen to reflect a wide range of industry-centric skillsets – from retired electricians to outback survival experts and longtime caravan owners – experience plays a big part. Independent assessment of all qualified entrants during the testing and review component of Best Aussie Vans is a critical aspect of the event.

The vans will be judged across nine criteria including value for money, towability, suitability for intended touring, build quality, liveability, self-sufficiency, innovation, X-factor and new for 2019, customer care.

Our travel features are produced by writers who are living and breathing the caravan and camping lifestyle, often doing their own 'big lap', while caravan reviews are independently assessed in real conditions, whether that's in the Red Centre or up the remote coast of WA, where our experts ensure they put vans through their paces and pass on their experiences to our audience.

We'll continue to touch every corner of Australia in an effort to educate, inform and inspire with authentic content which will help ensure that everyone can make the most of their adventures.
